Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen) is writing a paper on Urban Legends, when they hear about the Candyman (Tony Todd), was once an ex-slave turned artist name Daniel Robitaille, had an affair his client's Daughter. Robitaille's right hand was sawn timber, he was with honey, and someone to death by bees. If someone says the word "Candyman" five times in a mirror, he will appear behind that person, a bloody hook as a replacement for his hand, and kill him. A series of unexplained killings happen in the Cabrini Green projects, and Helen is with this to help with their paper. The residents say that the Candyman is to blame, but Helen not believe it. Until the man with a hook for a hand. Well, he has begun to murder their friends, and nobody believes her. Can Helen clear their names and stop the killing of Canydman someone else?

Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen) is a doctoral student doing research within an urban legend called "Candyman", is allegedly spectre of Cabrini-Green housing project in Chicago. Unfortunately, it notes that this is not an urban legend, but the tragic truth ...
A horror film is authentic, that creepy and unsettling, so it leagues ahead of other films of its ilk. Enhanced by Philip Glass's haunting music score and a magnetic performance by Tony Todd (he now has his signature role) as ordinary. There is mean-spirited (and very, very bloody), and, like several other horror films, this does not show a great hope for its leading character.
Based on the story "The Forbidden" by Clive Barker, originally in Liverpool (the author was executive producer of the film). Writer / director Bernard Rose fleetingly appears on the screen as Archie Walsh. "
Star Virginia Madsen shares two scenes with her real friend, actress Rusty Schwimmer, plays the policewoman.
