"The Count of Monte Cristo 'is a remake of the Alexander Dumas tale by the same name. Dante, a sailor, is falsely accused of treason by his best friend Fernand, wants to Dante 'girlfriend Mercedes for themselves. Dantes is imprisoned on the island prison of Chateau d'If, for 13 years, where he plots revenge against those who betrayed him. With the help of another prisoner, he escapes the island and proceeds to transform itself into the prosperous Count of Monte Cristo as part of his plan to exact revenge.

seeing an advance screening of "The Count of Monte Cristo ', and saw that only a TV Spot advertising before hand I really do not know what is, I went in this time. I vaguely recalled that there was a book Alexander Dumas, and former film / TV versions with a rather depressing prison scenes with men tunneling for the freedom of the sea. Despite its beautiful locations and details as soon as the above scenes prison this version presents itself at once, I was pressed, and wondered where the story going on. And then some wonderful things happen; A whole new group of characters have been introduced to our protagonist rather whiney - some good and some very bad. And by the time, said protagonist had escaped the prison, he was wonderfully evoked and dynamic, and I wanted to see him get everything he wanted and deserved: revenge. From then on, this film was a barrage of wonderful scripting (the adaptation is not perfect in its pace and wit), characters, drama, events, costumes, action, excitement and romance. The audience laughed with genuine awe as each new moment or detail was shown to us in the plans of the main character (played perfectly, from its beginnings to innocent scheming his later years) steps towards this end. This film was amazing, very cool performances from Guy Pearce and the rest of the cast, each character always his share of good lines. The story of revenge is well balanced with stories of friendship, quests and plotting, and romance, and all of the impact of any relationship holds, be it good or bad. In times of open theatre applauded phrases or recurring characters. It is perfectly timed and written, with powerful moments and style, and I would recommend it to anyone.
