The crew of Serenity is always desperate. They have located lower and lower to protect their doctor, Simon Tam (Sean Maher) and his telepathic traumatized little sister River (Summer Glau) from the alliance, which he rescued from a year earlier. This has become increasingly difficult, jobs and now they are desperate. If they prey on a river during the Reavers (humans, have crazy and cannibals) attack, Simon decides that its time to leave the crew of the Serenity for his flow and security. Then mutters "Miranda" and goes berserk and almost shoots Capt. Malcolm Reynolds (Nathan Fillion), until her brother says the word security in order to sleep. Reynolds decides to back on board to safety, only now an alliance operative (Chiwetel Ejiofor) is on its tracks and Reynolds determined to find out what "Miranda" is and what the Alliance hiding.

Before you start reading this You need to know where I am. I am a big fan of Joss Whedon the work was a loyal supporter of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" and got really into "Firefly" (on this film is based) and the whole browncoat phenomenon as well. So I was, you could only say, fairly much as predestined for this film. But not so. Whedon fans are a fairly critical mass, most of the time, and nobody went into this matter with higher expectations than we do. And have these expectations are fulfilled, so Serenity does is something very special indeed.
The film itself has all the elements that Joss Whedon work so unique. The sense of humor, wonderfully realized characters and their strong interpersonal ties, masterful dialogue and emotional pain, everything is in place. I laughed, I cried, I pretty much went through the entire emotional spectrum seen this movie, and this is not something that you might expect from 'just another sci-fi movie. "
While I write, the release of Serenity is still a few weeks before, but I got to see the finished version of the film with a select group of Dutch Firefly fans in a exclusive pre-screening. Subsequently, the atmosphere was strangely subdued. It was almost as if everyone had survived a kind of major disaster and we were too stunned to really say much. And I say that in the kindest way possible. Ehrlich.
If you are not in the work Whedon, or even if you are not sci-fi in general, this Gonna Be a film worth seeing. Ignore the whole "geekmovie 'hype that we doubt the surround version. Ignore the hype created by Whedon fans like me. Just go see it with an open mind and be prepared to be blown away. Because if Whedon worked his magic, everyone has to be respected.
This film is really a leaf in the wind. Have a look soar!
