knowing full well that there is a guy strip (usually defined as full of car chases, crashes, shootings, explosions, etc.), I expect some small degree of credibility. If somehow I can not believe in the premise, the film will not work. So we come to the problem with "Assault on Precinct 13".
Not for a spoiler, I never report details of the plot. However, I will make an exception here, because the act is so inane. Bad Guy is locked up in the 13rd Precinct Bad Guy's friends want to bust him out. Surprise. The bad guys' friends are actually corrupt cops. Brooding, troubled, but heroic young policeman saves the day, while Romancing the girl. Ugh. Yes, it is really so simple and the stupid.
"Assault on Precinct 13" will be held in Detroit. Not a bad setting for crime and corruption (I have 3 months in late 2004, so I know what I'm talking about). However, it is outrageously violent and insulting to the police and the citizens of Detroit. I have a lot of time in the inner city of Detroit, but I can not imagine how the final liquidation car chase in downtown Detroit forest. I must have missed it ...
There are no refunds for bad movies. Save your money. There were too many good films in 2005 to waste even $ 3.00 in Blockbuster in this one.
