Nelson (Keanu Reeves) is a man for his advertising career in San Francisco. One day, while taking a driving test in the DMV, he meets Sara (Charlize Theron). It is quite unlike the other women in his life. Nelson leads them to miss the test and later that day it tracks. One thing leads to another and Nelson ends her life with a November, changed his life forever.
(10 of 10) I've just seen "Sweet November" on television by chance. I had no idea what it was before, and I have not seen the original. The result was a very moving experience. It is amazing how the same film can people so different. It is also incredible how the mood may affect a person's reaction to a film. In my case, the film caught me in the right mood and to the right stage of life. So it was completely on the spot. I judge a movie based on how it makes me feel, and to what extent. I was asleep shortly before the film came on, but once he started, I woke up immediately. I then felt slight anger, then some healthy laughter, and at one point I actually cried, for me (as a 28-year-old macho-type) is a rarity. Was it the script, the plot, the actors' convincing performance, or only my own state of mind allows this film to speak to me? I do not know. All I do know is that I now go to sleep and feel completely peaceful and fulfilled.
