With this sequel to his previous award-winning independent film "El Mariachi" director Robert Rodriguez joins the ranks of Sam Peckinpah and John Woo as a master of slick, ultra-glorified violence. We get the story as a continuation of "El Mariachi", where an itinerant musician, in search of work, is replaced by mistake for a Hitman and thus entangled in a web of love, corruption and death. This time he is revenge for the murder of his lover and the mutilation of his worries hand that occurred at the end of the earlier film. However, the act recapitulated, and again a case of false identity leads to a very high body count, involvement with a beautiful woman who works for the local drug lords and, finally, the inevitable face-to-face confrontation and bloody showdown. 2062 F809fd0e3741a2abe568145b4061 It is known that Robert Rodriguez is a fan of John Woo, the Hong Kong film director, the best course of action strips of all time, The Killer (if you have not seen it yet, they hotfoot the video store right and check it out. Allow me to a summary of the action. A drifter (played by the impeccably shaped Antonio Banderas) comes in the city in search of his girlfriend and kill the murderers everyone he meets. Roll credits.
To say a kind, like Moby Dick is a book about a big Wal. It is the style is important here, and it is something that this film has in spades. The blistering action scenes are elaborately choreographed, but the same could be said of the Commando. What gives this film the edge of the Mexican attitude - the whole film is choked in dust, and comes complete with greasy villains, decaying cantinas, rough-hewn stone buildings and an irresistible Latin-American soundtrack. There are explosions, shootings, knife throwing, fisticuffs, and a scene of two fatal cases, the guitar is just so ridiculous that it fits perfectly. There is little acting talent on display and no action to speak of (although the film has a large * * sense of humour), but in the end, you leave the theater feeling satisfied, without really knowing why. And in the final settlement, which is good enough for me.
