Hilary Duff stars in Raise Your Voice as a young woman from a small town spends the summer at a school in the performing arts in Los Angeles. It faces big city and romance circumstances that challenge their small town upbringing. Sean McNamara directs.

I can not understand is the reason why so many people say they hate Hilary Duff went to see this movie. If you walk into the theater expecting to see the biggest piece of crap you have ever seen, then that's exactly what you are gonna see, because this is what you want to see. So, why even bother? The film was not too bad. It was not the best film ever to come, but it was certainly not the worst film ever to come either, even this year. * Cough * Fahrenheit 9 / 11 * cough *
However, this was one of those juicy, idealistic films that you see if you want to leave with a positive feeling as if you think as you can do everything you want, as long as your heart into it. Do not go expecting to see Oscar-worthy performance. Or heart-rendingly beautiful cinematography. Or ZIP BOOM-BAM special F / X Expect to see a sweet and charming girls, (my favorite part was found, as a penny, tail up, on the pavement and flipped it over, so that the next person found, it would think it was good luck) to search Gorgeously ordinary, go through some adversity only to fulfil their dreams at the end. It is the kind of film that many people can rely on, because most of us at a point in our lives have dreams of greatness, not necessarily on performance, but were too many people were too much to those dreams crash for reasons of practicality or simply jealousy. Hilary's innate appeal, that it is much easier to empathize and identify with her.
people are quick to point out that her singing in the film was lip-synchronous, but nobody cares that neither the violin were still playing the piano in the film authentic. Or that it's always been done. It's called 'act'. J-Lo lip-synchronous in "Selena", but nobody says anything about it. The only reason why people can not stop criticizing Hilary in this film, because it is too popular at the moment. You did not criticize, J-Lo, because "Selena" was her first major film.
People are also quick to point out that this story has already been said before with films like "Brave New Girl" & "Save the Last Dance". But 90% of the films, now use recycled stories. But because the target group of this film not yet seen, most of them are not really important. And since most people would prefer a movie with a familiar, easy-to-follow history, rather than one that requires them to think, then we really can not complain when films like these are made.
I would hate to see one of the most talented actresses of her generation are shunned or ignored simply because the powers, the over-hyped it too much and too early because they wanted milk for their every penny they could squeeze out of her. I hope that Hilary elect their next projects carefully and thoughtfully, and I hope that people do not forget that only a teenager trying to survive in the scariest of scary worlds, Hollywood. And above all, I hope that Hilary, as Teri, never forgets that if they know what they really want, then they should never give up.
