After the death of his father, Kale Brecht (LaBeouf) is sullen, withdrawn, and troubled - so much that he is under a court-ordered sentence of house arrest after one of the law. His mother, Julie (Moss), works day and night to support herself and her son, only to be met with indifference and lethargy. The walls of his house begin to close in on Kale. He becomes a voyeur as his interests turn outside the windows of his suburban home in the direction of its neighbours, one of which Kale begins to suspect is a serial killer. But are his suspicions merely the product of cabin fever and his overactive imagination?
After the death of his father in a car accident, Kale Brecht (Shia LaBeouf) is a troublemaker and aggressive teenagers. When he beats his Spanish teacher in the school, he is sentenced to three months of house arrest during his holidays. Kale spies his neighbors with binoculars and video camera to kill, and becomes a voyeur of its neighbours next door Carlson Ashley (Sarah Roemer). If Ashley looks Kale and his friend Ronnie (Aaron Yo) on the window, he tells of a sudden that her neighbor Robert Turner (David Morse) seems to be a wanted serial killer from Austin, Texas. The trio sneaks around his house, Kale and begins to suspect that perhaps Mr. Turner really the murderer.
How many times have I seen this story? The masterpiece "Rear Window" (1954), as far as I remember the original story. "The Bedroom Window" is a decent thriller, the Christopher Reeve's remake of "Rear Window", the cult and funny "Fright Night". All these films tell the story of neighbours neighbours espionage, but "Disturbia" is too predictable and full of stereotypes. The car accident in the beginning is the best part of this film. Moreover, it changes the "Make-up", with the excellent David Morse and Carrie-Anne Moss and the beautiful and sexy Sarah Roemer, but at the end of the story remains the same. It is better observe the classic film by Alfred Hitchcock lose time again, as with this overvalued, forgettable and flawed Strip. My vote is five.
